There is no B2 speaking-and-listening-only SELT on sale from any approved provider today. Trinity's GESE Grade 7 is the only one announced, and Trinity's own page for it says "register your interest" rather than "book". Every B2 route that can be booked right now is a four-skills exam.
We check Trinity's page every hour and update this page when something changes. If the date above is old, the situation has not changed.
Why this is confusing people
Settlement needs speaking and listening only. At B1 all four providers sell a speaking-and-listening test (GESE Grade 5, IELTS Life Skills B1, LanguageCert SELT B1, PTE Home B1), so people assume the same exists at B2. It does not yet. Forum threads in which someone "booked the B2 speaking test" are almost always a four-skills booking or a mistake.

The GOV.UK approved list names the exact qualification titles and the component scores accepted. Check it before paying: a test with a similar name that is not on the list is worthless for immigration.
What Trinity has said about Grade 7
Trinity moved its B2 SELT information to a dedicated GESE Grade 7 page during October 2026 and is collecting interest registrations. Its GESE Study App is due to add Grade 7 material in late October. No price or first test date has been published. The non-SELT GESE Grade 7 (the version colleges use, not valid for visas) has existed for decades, and Trinity charges £160 for every SELT grade it sells today, so expect the same. What to do while you wait
If your settlement date is before 26 March 2027 and you hold B1: apply at B1. The date of application is what counts. Do not wait for Grade 7.
If your settlement date is after 26 March 2027 and you have B2 reading and writing already (a degree, office work, a nursing registration): book a four-skills test now. Or check whether an earlier B2 qualification or a degree already covers you; what counts without a test.
If your settlement date is after 26 March 2027 and your reading and writing are weaker than your speaking: prepare for GESE Grade 7 now, register your interest with Trinity, and book the moment it opens. The format is a conversation with one examiner for about fifteen minutes; it is the same exam the colleges have run for years. The six Conversation subjects, the Interactive phase and the Topic phase are all documented, and you can practise the Conversation subjects today with the AI examiner. Expect the first months of bookings to fill fast: tens of thousands of applicants are waiting for the same test.
